Qigong Therapy Seen to Reduce Cocaine Addiction


The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine publishes a study that reports Qigong Therapy seen to reduce cocaine dependency in early addiction recovery.

The study "A Pilot Study of Qigong for Reducing Cocaine Craving Early in Recovery," David Smelson, PsyD, David Eisenberg, MD, and co-authors reveal the possibility of giving external qigong therapy (EQT) to a group of recently sober cocaine-dependent individuals. In EQT, a qigong specialist using focused intention directs and frees the individual’s bioenergy (qi) to attain stability that aids healing and symmetry in withdrawal.
