Artificial intelligence (AI) is all the rage these days, and a new report from Deloitte finds that its use in the health care and life sciences industries is "nearly limitless."
The report, called "The AI Dossier for Life Sciences and Healthcare," looks at five emerging uses of AI in these fields: biomarker discovery, self-healing supply chains, patient vitals monitoring, digital health care providers, and seeing what the human eye can't.
"There is no good substitute for human touch and compassion," says the report's author.
"AI-powered systems and robots have the potential to assist with many other aspects of health care delivery, including helping diagnose and treat common infections; assisting nurses with patient monitoring; helping radiologists analyze and interpret imaging data; and even supporting surgeons as they prepare for and perform complex operations."
