Middle schools in three Florida counties would get $6 per student if a Republican state senator has his way.
Sen.
Danny Burgess filed a bill Tuesday that would create the "Music-based Supplemental Content to Accelerate Learner Engagement and Success Pilot Program," or mSCALES, the News Service of Florida reports.
The bill would require schools in Alachua, Marion, and Miami-Dade counties to participate.
The College of Education at the University of Florida would evaluate the program's effectiveness and prepare a report for the state's education department and the Legislature, per the Miami Herald.
