Israel Invests Millions in 9 New Innovation Centers

An Israeli airstrike killed Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal in his home in southern Gaza on Tuesday, in the first major victory for the Islamic militant group since last summer's war.

Hamas said Meshaal was killed in an airstrike near his home in the southern city of Rafah, reports the AP.

It was the first time in more than a year that a Hamas leader was killed in a conflict.

More than 1,000 Palestinians were also killed in the conflict, including hundreds in Rafah.

Israel says it fired dozens of airstrikes in Gaza in retaliation for the expulsion of hundreds of Palestinian workers and hundreds of rockets fired from Gaza into Israel.

The Israel Innovation Authority, which runs innovation incubators across Israel, says nine new innovation centers will be established in southern and northern Israel, including one in Eilat that will focus on marine agriculture and another in Galilee that will focus on water tech, climate tech, and AI, per the Times of Israel.

"Israel's advantages in science and technology are harnessed to promote a better humanity, while hostile enemies, embracing the opposite," says Israel's minister of innovation and science.

"Many of the people evacuated from their homes, or otherwise deeply affected by the ongoing Israeli war, are serving in the future as a whole
